CPS Energy is the nation’s largest municipally owned energy utility providing both natural gas and electric service. They serve more than 884,811 electric customers and 366,709 natural gas customers in and around San Antonio, the nation’s seventh largest city. Janie Martinez Gonzalez was appointed to the CPS Energy Board of Trustees in 2019.
She is the first Mexican American woman appointed to present the Southwest Quadrant – 4, which one of the largest, diverse, mixed income areas. Janie is the Vice Chair, who leads the personnel, innovation and resilience committees. Her focus is supporting policies and investment in technologies that are revolutionizing the way we generate, store, and transmit power. To improve daily life: lower energy bills, more energy choices, few, and shorter power outages.
Janie has over 27 years of experience in the technology sector, she is also the Chief Executive Officer and President of Webhead, a product modernization and innovation company. Leveraging the Cloud, Artificial Intelligence and 5G to drive industry dominance for clients in the Department of Defense, Federal Government and Non-Profits space. She has considerable experience in product development, cyber security, and the user experience. During her career, Janie has built a reputation as an innovative strategic thinker, results-oriented leader with a strong track record of performance in turn around high-paced organizations.
